Pasting text

  • The Shipley Website uses Arial, one of the two web-friendly fonts.  If another font is used visitors may not be able to read the text if they do not have that font on their computer.
  • Text should be size 2, smaller or larger font sizes should not be used.
  • Pasting with control + V retains most formatting, including tables from MS Word and Excel.
  • Pasting with the paste button  clears/removes most formatting.  This is useful with heavily formatted documents to quickly/easily bring text back to Arial, size 2.  (If your text will not change font face or size after it has been pasted into RedDot cut the text from RedDot and re-paste it in using the paste button).
Coloring Text

Simply selecting the text to color and choosing the  button can color text.  While it is tempting to choose a variety of “vibrant” colors from the available options it is not recommended since the way colors are displayed on-screen varies greatly from monitor to monitor (and it’s not good Web design). Please limit your choices to Red or Gray.
