Tables: Creating and Editing

Tables in WebPages are used for many reasons, to control text alignment and spacing and to make information standout by providing areas with background color.

Example of a one-cell table with a background color:

Creating a new table using the RedDot text editor.

  1. Click the insert table button  .  Fill out the form with the table details.  Table should not be wider than 476 pixels.

  2. Click OK.

Editing tables pasted in from another program.

To ensure that tables are pasted in properly from another program (Word or Excel) be sure to use Control+ V to paste.  Click the edit table button  and change the table properties.

Removing tables

To remove a table with a border just mouse over the border until you see the crossbars, select the table and click delete.

To remove a table without a border the entire table must be selected and click delete.

*Note: One way of having control of picture placement is to insert a table with borders, arrange text and tables to get desired look and remove table border.
