This five-day conference is held in Wellesley, Massachusetts, on the campus of Dana Hall School for teachers of math or science at all levels. The math section of the workshop is quite large, and participants are grouped according to grade level. The science section is smaller and the group works together. The math component is heavily involved with manipulatives and problem solving. The science component involves hand-on experiments and experiences and includes small group work and a field trip.
Math: "Dana Hall is a worthwhile experience for anyone interested in getting new ideas for his/her math classes. The conference lasts 5 days and gives its participants a chance to meet teachers from different schools. I enjoyed the experience and I continue to use ideas that I got from the conference." (Jay Jennings)
Science: "The Dana Hall Science Workshop is a opportunity for science teachers to become science students for a week. Two expert science teachers take their "students" through a week of hands-on learning with a variety of materials. Teachers attending the conference usually come from all over the USA and bring quite a bit of experience with them that is eagerly shared. Accommodations are in the dormitories at the Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA. Dining is handled by the School's chef, and the food is quite good! Elementary and Middle School teachers, especially, will find this experience restoring, meaningful and educational." (Stu Malcolm)
