|

Field trips have come a long way since the day of the Invisible Man at the science museum. This year’s 3rd grade traveled to the Hope’s Cookies plant in King of Prussia for a tour, cookie making, and some taste testing. “Decorating cookies was really fun! Most of all, I liked eating our decorated cookies! I learned that they make 250 different kinds of cookies!” said Abigail Spector. “I thought it was cool how much cookie dough they made at a time,” said Zara Sternberg, were just some of the many comments made by the students following the visit.
Hope Spivak, founder of Hope’s and parent of 3rd grader Zach, gave the students a tour of the facility which left nothing to the imagination when it comes to the manufacturing of cookies. Hope’s ships to fans across the country. Kiani Sims noted, “In those big silos, they store 7000 pounds of flour and sugar!” Madison Comstock said, “I learned how important it is to wash our hands before making our cookies.” But maybe the most important lesson was learned by Danielle Robbins who said, “I learned you need to work REALLY hard to start your own business.”
