Six Students Qualify to Take Invitational Math Exam
This year, Shipley had 6 students qualify for the second level of international mathematics contests, the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) based on their performance on an exam administered earlier this year.  The students are: Dan Zeehandelaar, Daniel Blank, Jeanmarie Combe, David Knapp, Justin Komisarof, and
William Strasser.

The AIME is a 3 hour examination comprised of 15 question. All problems on the AIME can be solved by pre-calculus methods. The use of calculators is not allowed. The exam was administered on Tuesday, April 6th. Results of this exam will be forthcoming.
