The nomination forms below are your opportunity to suggest Shipley alumni to be considered for alumni recognition and to receive the Shipley School Distinguished Alumni Award, the Shipley School Alumni Association Service Award, The Shipley School Young Alumni Award, or the Margaret Bailey Speer Award.
The Recognition and Awards Program is open to all alumni graduates and non-graduates who left the school in good standing. Any member of the Shipley community may nominate a candidate. The Awards Selection Committee will seek alumni who represent a range of excellence in four areas: Award winners will be invited to spend a day at Shipley to share their experiences with students and faculty and to be interviewed and photographed for an Alumni Profile in The Bulletin. Their names will be engraved on a plaque along with the names of other recipients of each of these prestigious awards. Please take time to consider your classmates and other alumni whom you believe have made outstanding commitments in their fields of endeavor or as a volunteer to Shipley. The selection committee has requested as much detailed information as possible. In this way, each candidate's achievements will carry equal weight with the committee. The Margaret Bailey Speer Award is given to the graduate who has shown "Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing;" whose deeds have helped to make the community stronger and freer; who has in some way helped to lessen prejudice, intolerance and injustice; or whose accomplishments, political, artistic, literary or scientific, bring credit to her/him and also to The Shipley School. *Please note this award is not given annually. Any nominations made will be saved for the next award year. |

The Alumni Association Service Award is presented for outstanding volunteer service to The Shipley School by an alumna or alumnus as demonstrated by strong loyalty, exceptional contributions of time and effort, and personal commitment to the advancement of the school's mission. |

| The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding achievement, the dedication and the personal accomplishments of a Shipley alumna or alumnus in a particular field of endeavor, whether it be in a chosen profession, through formal volunteer activities unrelated to the school, or through a personal commitment to an issue, project or cause. |

| The Shipley School Young Alumni Award recognizes a Shipley alumna or alumnus who has graduated within the preceding twenty-five years and demonstrates innovation, curiosity, and creativity in the pursuit of excellence in a particular field, whether it be in a profession, through formal volunteer activities unrelated to the School, or through a personal commitment to an issue, project, or cause. |
