Germantown Friends sports field for cross country

From Shipley, take Montgomery Avenue toward Philadelphia. In Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery Ave joins with Conshohocken State Rd and crosses City Line Ave. Turn right on Belmont Ave. Turn left at the sign for "Playhouse in the Park." Go beyond the Playhouse in the Park on Belmont Mansion Drive. Turn left into a large parking lot. The cross country course starts in the field at the far end of the parking lot.

Alternate directions:
Take Route 76 east. Exit at Montgomery Drive. Turn left, go about 100 yards. Look for a red and white sign marked "Car Barn."  Turn right into the parking area. The starting line is above the parking area.

Directions to GFS Playing Fields

From Main Campus
Exit main campus on Coulter Street, turn right onto Coulter. Continue West on Coulter Street one mile. Bear left when Midvale Avenue splits from Coulter Street. Cross Wissahickon Avenue. Playing Fields are immediately on your right. Park on street in legal spaces only. Parking facilities at Field are not for public use.

From Center City and Main Line
I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) or City Avenue to Lincoln Drive. Stay in right lane on Lincoln Drive. Turn right onto Gypsy Lane. Turn Left on School House Lane. Continue one mile ahead; GFS Fields are on your right immediately before Wissahickon Avenue. Park on School House Lane, or turn right on Wissahickon, turn right on Midvale and park on Midvale Avenue.

From GFS:
Follow Schoolhouse Lane and go right on Wissahickon Avenue. Go left on Walnut Lane. The driveway into Blue Bell Field is 200 yards on left.

From Center City:
Take Kelly Drive to right onto Midvale Avenue, go left on Henry Avenue and right onto Walnut Lane. The driveway into Blue Bell Field is on the right just after the bridge and the traffic circle.

The Main Line:
By Car: I-76 Schuylkill Expressway or City Avenue to Lincoln Drive. Stay in right lane on Lincoln Drive. Pass Gypsy Lane on right. Continue on Lincoln, bear right onto exit lane (Rittenhouse Street). Left on Wissahickon Avenue.  Left on Walnut Lane.  The driveway into Blue Bell Field is 200 yards on the left.

By Bus: Take the City Line Bridge to the ramp onto Ridge Avenue West. Stay on Ridge Avenue and go about 1.3 miles. Turn Right on Walnut Lane and go .7 miles. The drive way into Blue Bell Field is on the right just after the bridge and traffic circle.

Northeastern Suburbs:
Follow Washington Lane then take a left onto Wayne Avenue and a right onto Walnut Lane, crossover Wissahickon Avenue. The driveway into Blue Bell Field is 200 yards on left.

Northwestern Suburbs:
Follow Germantown Avenue to a right onto Allens Lane, then go left onto Wissahickon Avenue and right on Walnut Lane. The driveway into Blue Bell Field is 200 yards on left.

From GFS:
Follow Schoolhouse Lane and go right on Wissahickon Avenue. Cross over Walnut Lane. The field in on the right.

From Center City:
Take Kelly Drive to right onto Midvale Avenue, go left on Henry Avenue and right onto Walnut Lane. Turn left on Wissahickon. The field in on the right.

Follow Germantown Avenue to a right onto Allens Lane, then go left onto Wissahickon Avenue, as you approach Walnut Lane the field is on your left.

Exit from 76 at Lincoln Drive/Kelly Drive (Exit 340A). As you cross over the river, follow signs for Ridge Avenue EAST and Kelly Drive (stay in the far Left lane.)  Follow the road around as it curves Left and at the stop sign, make a Left onto Ridge Avenue NORTH (The new Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education Center is directly ahead on Left).  At the traffic light make a Right onto School House Lane.  Follow School House all the way down, pass Penn Charter, pass our Playing Fields, cross over Wayne Ave. and Greene Street.  At traffic light at Germantown Avenue make a Right.  At traffic light at Coulter Street make a Right.  The Boys Club Field is on the left, but is behind the houses on the left hand side of the street. The team should unload their gear at the cross walk and walk down the left side of the Coulter Street (one way street).
