In case of a weather emergency, the School will make a decision to open or close by 6:00 a.m.  The decision to close will be announced on radio station KYW (1060 AM), on television stations WPVI, KYW-TV and NBC10, on the school answering machine and on the homepage of the school website (www.shipleyschool.org).

The Shipley School snow number is 403.  The Lower Merion School District number is 302.  The latter is important because a decision to open or close is often related to that of the Lower Merion School District, and its decision gives an indication of road conditions near the School.
