1) MS Musical: Cast and crew members of Fiddler on the Roof enjoyed at least one sold-out performance. Congratulations to them for an outstanding production.
2) Spring Thing: LS students planted flowers and an herb garden to help beautify their environment on April 19.
3) WCU Theater Competition: Members from the cast of Shipley's Four Baboons Adoring the Sun took top prize for Best Production at West Chester University's annual theater competition. Bravo!

4) The Boys' Junior Eight crew squad took home a gold medal from the Cooper Cup on Sunday, April 27.
5) LS Grandparents' Art Night: LS students showed off their artistic talents to grandparents and special friends on April 24.
6) Colleague Swap: Pre-K teacher Tina Wattles and US Head Mark Schoeffel swapped jobs for a morning. "I really gained tremendous insight, "said Wattles. "I also now have US having snack time and taking naps every afternoon!" Schoeffel commented, "Boy, do Lower School teachers and students do a lot each day – so full!"
7) Villefranche French Exchange: US students practiced their French with students visiting from Notre-Dame de Mongré, Shipley's sister school in the Beaujolais region of France. This is the 19th year of the exchange.

Sports Highlights
The spring sports season is quickly drawing to a close, with all of Shipley's FSL teams ranked in the top three positions. FSL semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13. Come out to cheer on the Gators!
Shipley's crew team recently competed in the Cooper Cup, with two squads taking home gold medals. Read more.
Seniors Dakota Carroll and Dave Balderston were recognized as the Seventh Congressional District Scholar-Athletes of The Shipley School for this academic year. Read more.
Shipley squash player Claire Kuensell received the Philadelphia Squash Racquets Association’s Sportsmanship Award. Read more.

Rowing for a Good Cause
Members of the Shipley community are participating in the annual Philadelphia Dragon Boat Festival for the second consecutive year. Fundraising efforts will help support Shipley's Cynthia Ebert Scholarship Fund, which provides assistance for students of color. The fund was created in memory of Cynthia Ebert, parent of Ruth '00, Steven '03, and Adam '06. Email Cindy Auslander for more information or to make a contribution.

Get involved in the 2008 Shipley Shops! Meet new people and help make The Shipley Shops a great success. This gift and boutique show, held every October in the School’s Yarnall Gymnasium, is a popular tradition that brings together premier retailers and artists from throughout the United States and attracts customers from within and well beyond the Shipley community. 2007-2008 Annual Fund Closes on June 30
More than $600,000 have been contributed
by 60% of Shipley's parents. Still, we have a goal of 100% parent participation. Annual Fund contributions help support the extraordinary teachers and superior academic programs at Shipley. To make a gift, please go to Shipley’s secure Online Giving form at
www.shipleyschool.org/giving. All gifts are deeply appreciated. 
Serve as an Annual Fund volunteer! It’s easy and fun! Responsibilities include signing solicitation letters to your peers twice each year, participating in phonathon sessions (two to three evenings per year), and attending Annual Fund Volunteer Meetings (three per year).
