Lenny Hirsh ’95 to Star in Independent Film about the Life of Anna Nicole Smith
Lenny Hirsh ’95 was recently chosen for the role of Larry Birkhead in the independent movie, Anna Nicole, starring Willa Ford. The film is being produced by Nasser Entertainment and directed by Keoni Waxman. Slated for a theatrical release, the film may air on television as early as June.
Lenny says he developed his love for acting and singing while attending Shipley. His musical and acting career began with the role of Fatso in the musical Do, Re, Mi in his junior year, and continued with his portrayal of The Pirate King in the Pirates of Penzance in his senior year.
After leaving Shipley, Lenny attended Colgate University in Hamilton, New York where he double-majored in International Relations and Spanish, was a three-year starter for the University's Division 1 lacrosse team, and performed as a soloist for its internationally acclaimed a capella singing group, The Colgate Thirteen.
After college, Lenny spent several years working in finance before pursuing a career in acting and music in the fall of 2001. Since that time, he has joined the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Lenny’s latest role as a supporting cast member in Anna Nicole adds to a long list of acting appearances. He has had co-starring roles on such popular shows as Jerry Bruckheimer’s CSI: Miami on CBS and Aaron Spelling’s Wanted on TNT. He was a star of FOX's Performing As, and he has had principal roles in many national commercials. Lenny also boasts a recurring part on My Network TV's Watch Over Me.
