Event Recap: Renoir Landscapes Exhibition & Reception
Over 175 Shipley alumni attended a private, guided tour of the Renoir Landscapes Exhibition followed by a reception at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Monday, December 17.
Gail Harrity ’69, Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, welcomed her fellow Shipley alumni to the special event. Connecting Shipley to the Renoir Exhibition, Gail pointed out that the School, as any great school should, inspires in its students a lifelong love of learning. The Renoir Landscapes Exhibition, with its collection of some of Renoir’s lesser-known works, shows that Renoir, too, spent his career learning new techniques and mastering new themes.
The event was a huge success. Thanks to those who attended, and a very special thanks to Gail and the museum staff for a very special evening.
