Shipley kicked off Super Saturday events a day early with the unveiling of the new Shipley Gator during a pep rally on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, over 100 student and 25 adult volunteers helped to make Super Saturday a success—running games and selling food to the 350-plus people that made it out for the carnival in Yarnall and the day’s sports matches.
Over $4,000 were raised for Ronald McDonald House and Ashley’s Angels, which work on behalf of terminally ill children and their families. Super Saturday events provided a day of fun for students and their families—with cotton candy, face-painting, games, and the chance to dunk 16 Shipley faculty members. Shipley sports fans were out in full force to cheer on their favorite teams and check out the new turf during an afternoon of sports matches against local rivals. All in all, the day was a great success thanks to all who volunteered and attended.
