College Counseling

The College Counseling Program is designed to provide students with the necessary research and decision-making skills and the adult support needed to make wise decisions about their future.

The emphasis in the program is on enabling students:

  • To understand their accomplishments and values
  • To clarify their goals
  • To search open-mindedly for options for their future
  • To present themselves effectively in the college admissions process, both in writing and in person

Respect for and explorations of many possibilities are encouraged through counseling techniques which help students to determine their own future. The goal of Shipley’s program is for each student to identify and apply to a range of schools which meet his or her needs and provide a good match for his or her talents and interests.
