Middle School students in the Shipley Cycles service group reached their goal of 100 miles on May 6. Cycling to help raise awareness of cancer issues, each rider reached out to the community and raised a total of $2,019 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Led by Shipley faculty members Christian Wareikis and Peter Stokes, the students completed the final 30 miles of their 100-mile goal on the Delaware Canal Trail in New Jersey. The riders included 8th grader Andrew Scutt, 7th graders Katie Leyden and Spencer Stokes, and 6 graders Julian Lurie, Nanci Selig, and Sophie Katz.
