Shipley Third Graders Win at Kids Grow Expo
Shipley third graders have joined the ranks of the School’s outstanding horticultural program. Earlier this spring, with the guidance of parent volunteers Michele Cruise and Leslie Labess, they took a field trip to the Upper School greenhouse to plant herbs in containers. Their finished herb gardens were submitted to the Kids Grow Expo Junior Flower Show at Temple University Ambler campus for their Earth Day celebrations on Friday, April 21, 2006.

The Kids Grow Expo is a horticultural exhibition by and for school-age children in the greater Philadelphia region. Produced by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Expo creates an awareness of horticulture and the natural environment. There were educational exhibits, service-learning projects, and competitive classes for children to enter (as part of the Junior Flower Show).
