Pre-K Holds a Healthy Snack Sale to Benefit the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network
Shipley’s Pre-K classes culminated their unit on nutrition with a Healthy Foods Snack Sale on December 7. The students raised over $200, which will be donated to the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN). FAAN’s mission is to raise public awareness, provide advocacy and education, and to advance research on behalf of all those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis.

In preparation for the sale, students learned about food allergies and FAAN’s PAL (Protect A Life from food allergies) program, which aims to educate school children about how they can help peers who have food allergies.

In addition to these important nutrition lessons, the four- and five-year-olds got a real-life education on how to conduct business.
