| Sprouts Excel at Philadelphia Flower Show |
What a year! It was the best showing ever for Sprouts in the 2006 Philadelphia Flower Show, with 99 entries and 85 awards. Two classes got high praise and the Friday Container class had 22 entries, 11 of which were from Sprouts. The judges were so impressed that everyone received a ribbon. Sprouts won six top awards in the class made up of pitcher plants, hardy plants, and other succulents. In another Friday class, all Amaryllis entrants got a commendation, whether or not they got an award. Most notable was junior, Clare Kuensell’s, hat trick, with three blue ribbons in one day (which makes her no longer eligible for competition in the Novice class)!
