MS & US Holiday Drive

Monday, December 3 – Friday, December 14

Please contribute to one or more of our projects below . . . . .

Joe Walsh goes to New Orleans!
Joe Walsh from our Physical Plant Department will be heading down to New Orleans in January for a work week.  His church is partnering with a New Orleans school, Wilson Elementary.  Shipley graduate John Grayboyes is currently working with the same organization in New Orleans . . . what a small world!  The Wilson School, a K-8 charter co-ed charter school, educates children who are in desperate need of the following:

  • Khaki pants and dark green shirts (new or gently used)
  • Shoes (new or gently used)
  • Underwear and socks
  • School supplies including backpacks
  • Winter coats

Help the Homeless at Broad Street Ministry
Philadelphia is experiencing an alarming upturn in homelessness among men, women, and children this year.  In an urgent call for assistance, Shipley is partnering with Broad Street Ministry this holiday season. Broad Street Ministry is an emerging community of faith that: honors CREATIVITY in all it pursues, strives to extend HOSPITALITY intentionally to each and all, and works TIRELESSLY for a more just and compassionate city.  Please consider donating:

  • Men’s underwear (standard or thermal)
  • Men’s jeans (new or gently used)
  • Men’s socks

Cradles to Crayons
Cradles to Crayons is a local organization that provides low-income and homeless children the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, and valued. We will be focusing on the babies for our drive.  Please donate:

  • Diapers
  • Infant equipment such as car seats, etc. (new or gently used)
  • Clothing
  • Toys (no stuffed animals)

Look for the bins in Middle School (Resource Room)
and Upper School (Riely Theatre lobby).
