David Bartholomew ’07 – Fairfield University, Soccer
At Shipley, David finished his career with 42 goals and 15 assists for 99 career points. He was a three-time All-League selection, as well as a two-time All-Main Line athlete. David earned All-State accolades his senior year and has moved on to play at Fairfield University in Connecticut. He saw time in three games this past season and will be battling for time at the forward position next year.

BJ Glenn ’07 – Lafayette College, Soccer
While at Shipley, BJ earned All-Main Line First Team honors for four straight years. He was also selected First Team All-Area by The Philadelphia Inquirer, and was named Main Line Times Player of the Year. BJ scored 79 career goals at Shipley and continued on to Lafayette College, where he just finished his freshman year second in goals, with 5, as well as second in points, with 11.

Rae Goldstein ’07 – Muhlenberg College, Soccer and Lacrosse
At Shipley, Rae was a three-sport varsity starter in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. As co-captain of each squad, Rae became Shipley’s all-time leading goal scorer in soccer and lacrosse, and broke the 1,000 point mark in basketball. As a freshman at Muhlenberg, Rae played soccer in the fall, contributing 5 goals for the Mules. She is continuing her lacrosse career this spring. In only four games as of March 17, 2008, Rae already had 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points, with the majority of the season still ahead.

Brooke Stokes ’07 – Bucknell University, Soccer
Brooke was a four-year varsity starter and a captain her senior year for Shipley’s soccer team. Brooke was selected to the All-League first team three times, as well as All-Main Line four times. During her career at Shipley, Brooke helped her team capture two league championships and a 2nd place finish. Brooke also played varsity basketball and lacrosse while at Shipley. At Bucknell, Brooke continues to play soccer. In her freshman season she played in 16 games, scoring 1 goal and adding 1 assist for 3 points.

Ted Schroeder ’07 – Dartmouth College, Squash
At Shipley, Ted received letters in baseball, cross-country, and squash. He was named to the All-Main Line 1st Team in his junior and senior years, as well as to the All-MASA 2nd team. During his freshman year, Dartmouth’s squash team, for which Ted played in positions 6-9, finished its regular season with a record of 13-5 and was ranked 8th nationally. Ted’s personal record was 13-5 as well. He posted key wins in 5-4 team victories against the University of Rochester and the Naval Academy, in 7-2 team victories over Bates, Williams, and Cornell, and in a 6-3 team loss at Harvard.

Alex King ’07 – Union College, Field Hockey, Basketball, and Softball
At Shipley, Alex was a letter winner on the field hockey, basketball, and softball teams. As a basketball player Alex was crowned a 1,000-point scorer with 1,003. She helped lead the softball team to four league championships, and set records in the batters box with an average of .593 and a slugging percentage of .963, with 39 RBI’s and 49 hits. Alex was an All-FSL, All-Main Line, and Main Line Life pick in each sport. Alex has moved on to play all three sports at Union College. In the fall, Alex played for the best Union field hockey team in history with a record of 12-6. She started every game and played the most minutes on the team. While playing defense Alex scored 3 goals and added 4 assists; she also had 3 defensive saves, 2 of which came in the semifinal game against league rival William Smith. She then continued her athletic career by walking onto the women’s varsity basketball team, playing the forward position until she suffered a labrum tear to her shoulder and was out for most of the season. Recently, Alex has made the varsity softball team. She is playing catcher and is heading to Florida over spring break, during which the Dutchwomen will open their season March 23.

Mike Katin ’07 – Bucknell University, Crew
After graduating from Shipley in 2007, Mike has gone on to Bucknell University, where he has continued his rowing career for their club-varsity crew team.

Peter Lisle ’07 – Hamilton College, Squash
In his career at Shipley, Peter was named to the All-Main Line 1st team his senior year and to the 2nd team his junior year. He was also a part of the crew team his senior year. Continuing his squash career, Peter is now a freshman at Hamilton College.

Danny Costanza ’07 – Williams College, Crew
At Shipley, Danny was a member of the crew team, participating in the varsity four his senior year. Danny is now a freshman rowing at Williams College. The team’s first race of the spring season is to come at the end of March.

Luke Strathmann ’06 – Bates College, Lacrosse
While at Shipley, Luke was a part of the 2006 Championship lacrosse team with a record of 16-3, the best in Shipley history. A 1st Team All-League and All-Main Line selection, Luke was the first boys' lacrosse player to break the 100-goal mark at Shipley. Luke has just begun his sophomore season at Bates College, where he continues to play lacrosse.

Ben Davidson ’06 – Williams College, Tennis
At Shipley, Ben was team captain his junior and senior years while playing the #1 singles position for all four years. He was ranked in the top 300 in the country in the 16's and 18's and is now in his sophomore year playing tennis at Williams College.

Nick Fatula ’06 – Moravian College Lacrosse
At Shipley, Nick was a four-year starter on the boys’ soccer team. He served as captain of the boys’ lacrosse and soccer teams during his senior year, which both won FSL titles. As a freshman, Nick played in 11 games, and returns for his second season as a defender at Moravian.

Jordan Greenberg ’06 – Bates College, Squash
Jordan served as captain of the squash team at Shipley during his senior year and helped lead the Gators to a MASA division title. He was also a starting All-League member of the 2006 FSL Championship boys’ lacrosse team. At Bates, Jordan was one of two freshmen playing for the No. 12 nationally-ranked Bates men’s squash team, which posted a 20-8 record. During his sophomore year, the team went 14-4.

Matt Greenfield ’06 – Penn State University, Men’s Gymnastics
During his time at Shipley, Matt participated at the club level with Temple boys’ gymnastics. Among other accomplishments, he finished 25th in the all-around at the 2005 Junior Olympic Nationals and was named Academic All-American at the Junior Nationals in 2003-06. Now a sophomore at Penn State, Matt has competed in the floor exercise, still rings, vault, and high bar. Matt recently recorded a career high score of 15.150 in the high bar.

Todd Herman ’06 – Union College Swimming
At Shipley, Todd was a standout swimmer and received All-FSL and All-Main Line Honors during his senior year. He was also a member of the FSL Championship boys’ varsity lacrosse team in 2006. Todd is currently a member of Union College’s swim team and competes in individual and relay freestyle events.

Charlie Biddle ’05 – Bates College, Rowing
At Shipley, Charlie was a member of the senior four boat that captured the bronze medal at the Scholastic Nationals in 2005 with a time of 5:05:091. Charlie is now in his junior year rowing at Bates College.

Jake Shechtman ’05 – Skidmore College, Basketball
Jake was a standout player on some of Shipley’s strongest basketball teams in School history. Shechtman has seen substantial playing time at Skidmore over the past three years. As a freshman, Jake started nine games and averaged 6.5 points per game. This past season, Jake started in 21 games, led his team in rebounds in 5 games, and improved his average to 6.9 points per game.

Deanna DiBernardi ’05 – Yale, Softball
Deanna had 297 strikeouts and a 0.53 earned run average in four years at The Shipley School. She was a four-time All-Main Line 1st Team selection and was twice selected as the Main Line Life Softball Player of the Year. The Shipley School won three Inter-Ac League titles during her time on the varsity squad. Deanna had a stellar freshman year on the Yale varsity softball team. Her first career home run was a three-run homer to lead her team to a 4-1 victory over Colgate. In her sophomore campaign Deanna was third on the pitching staff with 44.2 innings and 24 strikeouts. In her final appearance of the year, she struck out a season-high six batters vs. Brown.

Sara Mancini ’05 – Columbia University, Archery
Sara is one of the nation’s leading collegiate archers. She was crowned All-American and was named to the USA Archery All-Academic team for the second straight year. Among many great accomplishments this past season, Sara placed 2nd at ACCC Eastern Seaboard Star FITA with a score of 539, and finished 8th at the U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships at Columbia.

Emma Powers ’05 – Bowdoin College, Softball
After a standout career on the Inter-Ac Championship softball team at The Shipley School, Emma moved on to Bowdoin College and immediately joined to help her team in the NESCAC hunt. Emma batted .300 in her freshman year at Bowdoin, while also stepping in to pitch. This season, Emma will be playing in the outfield. The Polar Bears are off to a good start with a record of 3-1 as of March 14,2008.

Caroline Feldman ’05 – Haverford College, Basketball
As a Shipley senior, Caroline set the single-season three-point shooting record with 46 made threes, including a career-high six threes in a game against Agnes Irwin, earning her an All-Inter Ac Honorable Mention. Caroline was also named to the All-Tournament Team in the St. Maria Goretti Holiday Classic while she was at Shipley. Caroline just finished her junior season at Haverford College. She appeared in 16 games for the Fords this past season and ranked 5th for her 3-point shooting percentage in her sophomore campaign.

Jon Kearney ’04 – Lehigh University Swimming
At Shipley, Jon was a varsity swimmer from the 9th grade on. He holds numerous school records in the butterfly and freestyle. In his senior year, Jon served as Shipley team captain and was Pennsylvania YMCA State Champion in the 500 freestyle. He was also a member of Shipley’s National Champion Crew Junior Eight in 2003. He won the Rich Mach Award in 2004 at graduation. As senior co-captain at Lehigh, Jon finished 2nd in the 200 fly and 4th in the 100 fly, 14th in the IM, and competed on the 400 medley relay and 800 free relay teams, finishing 5th and 4th respectively at the Patriot League swimming championship. Of the graduating seniors in the Patriot League, Jon finished 4th in total points scored in the past 4 years at championships, and he was selected to the All-Patriot League 1st or 2nd team each year. Lauren Love ’04 – Wake Forest Field Hockey
While at Shipley, Lauren was a four-year varsity starter and senior captain. She was named First Team All-Main Line and First Team All-League for four seasons at Shipley, and earned Shipley's White Blazer Award, presented to the best female athlete, during her senior year. Love was also a standout softball player for Shipley; she was a senior captain and six-year varsity starter, earning All-Main Line and All-League first team honors. Love scored her first NCAA career goal against Appalachian State in 2005 and has been a contributing member of her nationally-ranked squad since her freshman year. Lauren can claim some impressive accomplishments since her days on the field hockey team at Shipley—including a trip to the NCAA finals. In 2006, the No. 1 ranked Demon Deacons advanced to the NCAA Championships, falling to No. 2 Maryland, and finishing the year 22-2. In 2007, the team upset No. 2 ranked Maryland to advance to the NCAA final four vs. Penn State. Lauren added one final goal her senior year to round out her career scoring to 4 goals for 8 points.

Kelly Kirkpatrick ’04 – Brown University, Tennis
At Shipley, Kelly was a regionally ranked tennis player. As a sophomore at Brown she played #6 Singles and #1 doubles on one of the Ivy League’s top teams. Already improving on last year’s record of 8-11, Brown is 7-4 on a six-game winning streak as of March 14, 2008. During this streak, Kelly has played at the #2 doubles position in four matches.

Boris Meno ’03—Davidson, Basketball
After dominating the basketball courts at Shipley, Boris Meno played another year of high school basketball before continuing to the NCAA level. At 6’ 8” and 220 pounds, Meno runs the court like a strong wind crossing the plains, and his transition from defense to offense is amazing. Any defender who loafs back on defense against Meno will need binoculars to see the number on the back of his jersey. As a senior at Davidson, Meno played in all 32 games and led the team in total rebounds with 188, as well as blocks, with 28.
