Paintings by Upper School Art Teacher Steve Baris Featured in Two Philadelphia Exhibitions

Abstract paintings by Upper School art teacher Steve Baris are featured in two concurrent exhibitions in Philadelphia. One is a solo exhibition at the Pentimenti Gallery that runs through May 27. His work is also included in a curated exhibition called “ORDER(ed),” at the Siano Gallery, along with selected artists from the U.S. and Canada. This also runs through May 27.

The artist says of his work, “I want my paintings to emulate what I sense is an intriguing paradox of contemporary experience. The spaces in which we usually operate feel ever more expansive and compressed at the same time.”

For more information about the Pentimenti Gallery and Baris’ exhibition, “The Correct Distance,” call 215-625-9990 or visit http://www.pentimenti.com/. Information about “ORDER(ed)” can be obtained by calling 215-629-2940 or by visiting http://www.gallerysiano.com/. For more information about Steve Baris, visit http://www.stevenbaris.com/.
