Courtney Conner ’02 Returns from Zambia, Shares Experience with Shipley Global Studies Class Courtney’s work as an International Casework Fellow with the IJM included providing legal aid to Zambians, leading workshops in the local communities to educate Zambians on their legal rights, and assisting clients in accessing social welfare resources. She provided valuable insight to students on the effect of international aid in a developing nation, the legal challenges facing people in Zambia, and the political climate there during an election year. Having graduated from Goucher College (Baltimore, MD) in the spring of 2006 with a degree in sociology, she hopes to pursue her interest in social justice (her degree concentration) by working in policy or social services and possibly pursuing a graduate degree in public policy or social work.
