FRIENDSHIP CLASS
WEEK 30
Pre-K We can never get too much practice sharing in pre-k and that is what we did this week. First we read The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins then we spent time role playing various sharing scenarios. Kindergarten Our topic this week was fairness. We read The Goodbye Book by Judith Viorst and discussed the children's ideas about what is fair and unfair. The students had a chance to role play as well.
First grade We have spent several weeks thinking about feelings, this week we read My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss. This wonderful book helps the children to express their feelings through color and art.
Second Grade We are continuing with our unit on making choices and thinking about consequences. We watched a video from our safari Montage collection "Decisions and Conflicts".
Third Grade We began reading Owen and Mzee an incredible tale of friendship, trust and resiliency.
Fourth Grade Using a feelings vocabulary list the students created feelings flash cards by cutting pictures from magazines and assessing which feeling the picture portrayed.
Fifth Grade This week's character trait is citizenship. We read a selection from What Do You Stand For. Additionally, the students were given the opportunity to role play.
