Pre-K Paints like Pollock
It’s not often that young children are given free reign with paint. In general, teachers instruct their students to paint with prudence, careful not to spill color on their clothes or bodies. This was not the case when Shipley’s Pre-K learned about Jackson Pollock.

In a lesson led by new faculty member Tina Wattles, Pre-K students were encouraged to paint with reckless abandon. And that they did—swinging brushes in the air like impassioned maestros of color, splashing paint on their canvases and anything else within close range. The results were fantastic, and the students completed the activity as works of art themselves. Surely, a lesson not soon forgotten.
