The Shakespeare Activity performed Antony & Cleopatra May 14th - 18th in the courtyard between the gym and theatre. Despite changeable weather and rain delays the performance was impressive and a delight to watch for those in attendance.
Under the direction of Emmy Miller '96 and Jonah Cohen, students have had an extraordinary opportunity to tackle some challenging theatre. Miller comments, "Antony & Cleopatra is one of Shakespeare’s most complex plays. We are very proud of our Shipley students in being able to understand and perform these parts so passionately and so well! High school is a wonderful time for Shakespeare-- teenagers are sometimes more able to access the emotionality that Shakespeare demands, and their minds are very quick to absorb the language. It is such a delight to watch our students’ progress-- each year their command of the language and acting grows more profound. We are so grateful to have such dedicated and skilled students to work with, and we can’t wait for King Lear next year!"
