George D. Wrangham, History Department Chair, has been named “Senior Fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute Marvin Wachmund Fund for International Education.” Wrangham recently spoke in Rabat, Morocco at the University Mohammed V Souissi on Ethnocentrism and the Challenge of Coping with the Other. This was in effect the keynote speech of the annual conference of the International Society for History Didactics. Wrangham received a grant through The Agnes and Sophie Dallas Irwin Fund.
Jeffer’s Handbell Supply Co., one of the nation’s largest supply houses of handbell music, annually awards a Composer of the Year Award to an individual whose work represents their greatest number of sales. This year’s top selling piece was composed by Michael Joy, the Middle School Music teacher, and Handbell Choir Director for both the Middle and Upper Schools. His piece, dedicated to the Upper School choir, is titled Dorian Dance.  On Friday, Oct. 29, Liz Cousins, Director of Upper School Library and Information Services, was inducted into Beta Phi Mu, Honor Society for Library and Information Science Professions by Drexel’s College of Information Science. Cousins received her MLS from Drexel in 2003. The honor is in recognition of her scholastic achievement among library and information studies students. Eligibility is by invitation of the faculty from an American Library Association accredited professional degree program.
