The Shipley School Community Participates in Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Over 100 Shipley parents, students, and faculty came out to volunteer on campus and in greater Philadelphia on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Volunteers helped themselves to a hearty breakfast before taking off to activities that included taking care of children at the Church of the Advocate day care program; sorting donated clothes and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Life Center; sorting food at the Philadelphia Foodbank and SHARE; making crafts with senior citizens at The Chateau; reading with inner-city children through Philadelphia Reads program; and making a quilt for the children at The Brain Tree Primary School in Kyanja, Uganda.
