Admissions

Centennial Scholarship Program

The Centennial Scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of a group of Shipley families who wished to encourage motivated, well-rounded and intellectually talented students to attend the school. Centennial Scholarship winners represent not only academic excellence but also the potential to contribute to school life in multiple areas.

Scholarship Description

The Centennial Scholarship is open to all students applying to grade nine whose families qualify for need-based financial aid. Winners receive a $2,000 annual stipend towards school related expenses as well as an annual financial aid award for tuition to meet up to 100% of demonstrated need as reported by School and Student Services.

How to Apply

To be considered for the Centennial Scholarship, please submit the following material by December 14, 2012:

  • Complete the Centennial Scholarship application and essay
  • Complete all parts of the admissions process:  Application for Admission, Personal Interests form, parent meeting, student classroom visit, standardized testing, teacher recommendation and school transcript

Selection Criteria

The Centennial Scholarship selection committee considers the admissions applications and scholarship essays written by applicants, names a pool of finalists, and then invites each finalist to a scholarship interview. Winners are selected based on the scholarship essay and interview as well as the student’s admissions testing, transcript and teacher recommendation.
