Six Shipley Students Named National Merit Finalists, One Named National Achievement Finalist
Six Shipley seniors advanced to the Finalist round in the National Merit Scholarship competition. These students are among those who earned the highest scores in the nation on the 2009 PSAT and whose academic and extracurricular profiles resulted in their selection as a Finalist by the National Merit Scholarship program. All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships, which will be awarded during the next 3-4 months.
Congratulations to Nate Colgan, David Corenswet, Jeremy Laskin, Dixon Sperry, Julia Tyson, Michael Umbrecht.
In addition, Amiyr Jackson was named a Finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship program, a program that recognizes the accomplishments –on standardized testing as well as in the classroom – of outstanding Black American students.
