Reflections on Shipley
Shipley has had a profound impact on my life and my identity. Shipley has shaped who I am and given me the courage to take risks and believe in myself, and for that I am truly grateful.

A Supportive Community
Without the support of my peers, teachers, and the administration, I never would have been able to try new activities and push myself academically. Shipley is an incredibly unique place and the sense of community here is unmatched by any other institution. Whether it’s in the classroom or on the sports field, the School encourages its students to be team players and support one another in all of our endeavors. Above all, Shipley has taught me to be compassionate, engaged, and to always think of others.

Most Influential Teacher
Ms. Kobosky, as well as the entire college counseling team, works incredibly hard to assist students with the college process. Caring and compassionate, she is always available for advice and support. She has a way of making even the most daunting tasks seem manageable and is one of the kindest teachers at Shipley. I will miss her very much next year.

A Winning Team
My most memorable experience at Shipley would probably be participating on the varsity volleyball team this year. We had a very close-knit group of players, and it was amazing to watch everyone grow throughout the season. Everyone worked hard to improve their skills, but most importantly, we all had so much fun; whether it was late night van rides home from Princeton or warming up before a game, we always managed to make each other laugh! The best moment was winning the championship game, which we wouldn’t have been able to do without all of our teamwork and our fantastic coach, Marta Mielcarz Johnson ’95.

Plans for Fall 2015
In the fall, I will be attending Boston College. Although I am very excited for this new part of my life, I will always miss Shipley.

Future Ambition
Because I am going to college with an undecided major, my future ambitions are very broad. At Boston College, I hope to take a variety of courses to discover what I am interested in. If Shipley has taught me one thing, it is to embrace new experiences and uncertainty. In the future, I will remember the lessons that Shipley has instilled in me and they will be the key to my success.
