Learning to Thrive
The Shipley School is a community of students who embody the qualities of leadership, respect, and responsibility. Shipley has prepared me in so many ways for college and for my future. I feel that I have a great sense of self-advocacy, an incredible drive for accomplishment, and I have learned how to thrive in a strong community.

Learning to Lead
Shipley has taught me how to take risks in all aspects of my life. I held many leadership positions at Shipley for sports, clubs, and admissions. I learned how to explore different paths of interest through my academics as well. Shipley has impacted my future ambitions and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of Shipley’s community.

Outside the Box
The teacher at Shipley that influenced me most as a student was Mr. Amidon. He taught me to think outside of the box when it came to projects and presentations. He allowed me to learn about topics that were of my interest, along with helping me to put a spin on my ideas with creativity. I admire his style and his approach to discussion-based classes and I will truly miss his love for historical films next year.

Beating a Rival
My most memorable experience at Shipley was beating Lower Merion my senior year during Super Saturday. I have been playing field hockey games against the same girls at Lower Merion since sixth grade. This past season of 2014, we finally beat them and it was the greatest moment for my Shipley sports career.

Plans for Fall 2015
In the fall of 2015, I plan to attend The George Washington University. I am entering the Business school to be a marketing or business management major. I am looking to minor in a sports and entertainment course. I hope to be involved in many extracurricular clubs and organizations. I am looking forward to living five blocks from the White House, participating in a community of pure activism and energy, and investing my time in experiencing all that D.C has to offer.

Future ambition: My future ambition is to ultimately build and create my own unique business. Shipley’s DECA club has taught me how the world of business functions and how entrepreneurship can be an advantage in today’s society. I hope to be successful with achieving my goals throughout my years of college, along with my future endeavors.
