The garden owners have requested that you wear flat-heeled shoes for your safety.

The Shipley Green Thumb Booth, featuring plants and accessories, will be at the luncheon site from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

* Tickets ordered through 14th must be picked up in the Parent Programs Office in Brownell House.

The Gardens
The Shipley Secret Gardens 2008 tour features eleven unique gardens from the elegance of Bryn Mawr environs to pastoral estates in Newtown Square.  Water features are prominent in naturalized pools with water lilies and cascading waterfalls, to rural ponds complete with frogs and bald cypress knees. Admire immaculate, owner-designed and maintained formal gardens showcasing expert horticultural knowledge and extraordinary plant material.  Meander through rolling country estate gardens of nostalgic specimens and outdoor sculpture.  Appreciate an organically-gardened wildlife habitat, birdhouse collections, gorgeous pergolas and copper gates.  Stroll garden rooms, promenade gracious allées and then marvel at a true secret garden .

Seated Lunch Menu:

Chilled Butternut Squash and Coconut Milk Soup
Garnished with cashews and cilantro
Fair Isle Chicken Salad:
Sliced roasted chicken breast, accompanied by chopped celery, green onions, water chestnuts, dill havarti cheese and green grapes in wasabi dressing on baby spinach
Secret Gardens Chocolate Cake

Be sure to include a self addressed stamped envelope. Luncheon reservations are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
