In pursuit of the Shipley’s mission of compassionate participation in the world, the School regularly forms partnerships with other organizations. On two weekends in December we are working with the following organizations for the purposes described.

  • Coaches vs. Cancer
The Coaches vs. Cancer program unites the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches in the fight against cancer.
Donations to the American Cancer Society will be accepted at the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament. Sign up for the blood drive by filling out the form below.
  • Toys for Tots
For the sixth year, Shipley is working with the US Marine Corps to collect new, unwrapped toys, which the Corps distributes as Christmas gifts to needy children in the Delaware Valley area.
Admission to the Toys for Tots Tournament is free with an unwrapped toy.
  • Starfinder
For the third year, we are working with the Starfinder Foundation, which is designed to foster character building through soccer instruction and games, community service projects, and fellowship. Their programs are made available to our students and urban youth through after-school programs, clinics, workshops and weekend events. The Passport to Excellence Day, on Saturday, December 10 will bring together Shipley sutdents in grades two through five with students from the Kensington section of Philadelphia for a day of soccer instruction, character building, and service projects. Shipley Upper School students will help with the various activities. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for each participant.
The Starfinder Passport to Excellence Day is one of the ways in which we honor the memory of Will Trippley ’02, a standout soccer player and beloved member of the Shipley community. While the School is prepared to support every child who wants to participate on the Passport to Excellence Day, regardless of cost, we are soliciting donations of $70.00 to sponsor a participating child.

You may sign up for your child to participate and/or make a donation by filling out and printing the form.
Checks should be made payable to The Shipley School.
