Shipley Students Recognized for Spanish Language Proficiency
Shipley students competed in the Spanish language competition, Jamboree, held at Merion-Mercy Academy, Feb. 21. The competition premiered some of the best local language talents of students from, Penn Charter, Merion Mercy, Agnes Irwin, Germantown Friends, Episcopal Academy, and the Academy of Notre Dame.


The Level 2 students competed in group skits and individual role playing. Freshmen Camilla Carlini, Jenny Sullivan, and Julia Drake took first place in the skit competition. Camilla Carlini also took first place in the individual role play contest.

The Level 4 and 5 students competed in debates. The students were divided into teams of five or six students from Shipley and other schools and given topics to debate (pro or con).
 
Maria Hannaway took second place in this competition.
