Shipley’s #1 singles player, senior Brittany Zoll, fell to Notre Dame’s Gina Siclari (5,7 3,6), but made her work very hard for the victory. Shipley Senior Clare Kuensell played her best tennis of the season, beating Notre Dame’s Liz Faught (6,1 6,3). Shipley’s #3 singles player, junior Robyn Rubenstein, played very solid tennis and beat Notre Dame ‘s Anastasia Romanawitz (6,2 6,4). Shipley’s final singles player, Remi Rosenfeldt, fell to Notre Dame’s Anna Dziedzic (1,6 2,6). Shipley’s first doubles team, sophomore Kat Adkins and senior Jamie Goldstein, started strong and never looked back, beating Katherine Cleveland and Bridgit Maguire of Notre Dame (6,0 6,0). With Shipley up 3 - 2, anything could happen with just two doubles matches left. Shipley’s #3 doubles team, juniors Katie Rumer and Gabby Levin, secured the victory in a very hard-fought match against Emily Cleveland and Kim Cyurland of Notre Dame (6,2 6,3). The #2 doubles team, freshmen Kaitlin Gottlieb and Kelsey Leon, finished their match with a win against Notre Dame’s Stephanie Spurell and Christy Finley (2,6 6,2 6,4). Shipley was victorious with a score of 5 - 2.
