The Shipley School boys’ squash team traveled to Inter-Ac powerhouse, Malvern Prep, on Tuesday January, 1 and swept their opponents with a victory. The win improved the Shipley MASA division record to 7-1 and clinched the second straight MASA Independent Division title for the Gators.
The Shipley boys are guided by a strong senior class of Ted Schroeder, Rye Biddle, Peter Lisle, Michael Sulewski, Jesse Storbeck, and Austin Anthony. Coach Peter Stokes looks forward to the challenge ahead. “Winning the division was one of our goals all season; our other goal is to win the Mid-Atlantic Championships in Baltimore.” The squad will head to the Mid Atlantic Championships in Baltimore on February 2 to battle the best squash teams in the region. They return home for tough matches against local competition and then gear up for the February 20-21 MASA tournament and the Divisional Playoffs on February 22.
