6:00 p.m. Consolation game Lawrenceville vs. Penn Wood Lawrenceville-41 Penn Wood- 47 7:15 p.m. Gift Presentation to the Marine Corps 8:00 p.m. Championship game In the championship game, the Gators found their stride in an overwhelming 27-6 2nd quarter, keyed by 8 points by 6' 2" sophomore center, Alex Lennon, who finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Senior forward and captain, Alex King, won tournament MVP honors, scoring 31 points in both games. King and Lennon both are shooting close to 60% from the field for the season. Senior guard and captain, Rae Goldstein, continued her rabid defensive prowess and stuffed the stat sheet: 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 5 assists while committing 0 turnovers. 5' 8" freshman, Brianna Ross, turned in the best performance of her young career, scoring 9 on a perfect 3-for-3 from the field while hauling in 4 rebounds. Freshman forward, Sam Wolfson, and sophomore deadeye guard, Alisha Fairfax, continued to contribute off the bench, scoring 4 and 3 respectively. Fairfax now has at least one three in each of Shipley' s four games this season. The Gators return to the court next Tuesday, December 12 to take on next-door neighbor Baldwin (at Baldwin, 3:45), led by Duke-bound lacrosse sensation Emma Hamm. Friday, 12/9/06 5:00 p.m. Toys for Tots Welcome Dinner 6:00 p.m. Penn Wood vs. Academy Park-56 Penn Wood- 42 8:00 p.m. Shipley vs. Lawrenceville Shipley- 60 Lawrenceville- 23 The Shipley Gators girls’ basketball team (3-0, 0-0 FSL), posted their third straight win to start the season, winning handily against visiting Lawrenceville, 60-23, in the first round of the 7th Annual Shipley Toys for Tots charity tournament. The Gators started the game with a 10-0 run and never looked back, stretching the game out of reach with a resounding 23-3 third quarter. Leading Shipley was 5' 10" senior forward, Alex King, who caught fire en route to a 9-point third quarter and finished with a game-high 17 points, including a three pointer. 6' 2" sophomore center, Alex Lennon, had her third straight double-double, scoring 12 points and gathering 11 rebounds. 5' 10" freshman, Sam Wolfson, scored a career-high 8 points off the bench, and sophomore guard, Alisha Fairfax, continued her torrid three-point shooting (5 threes in three games), knocking down a pair of triples and finishing with 12 points. Sophomore point guard, Alex Davis, added a career-high 5 assists and 4 steals to only 2 turnovers. Tomorrow, Saturday, at 8:00 p.m., Shipley competes for the Toys for Tots championship against
