Shipley Honors Seniors in Lacrosse, Softball, and Tennis
The girls' lacrosse team successfully celebrated their senior day on Tuesday, April 29, and beat Friends' Central by a score of 12-3.

Senior captains Leigh Ann Quill and Jess Rosenbluth led the Gators with 5 and 4 goals respectively. Rosenbluth also added 2 assists. Sophomore Tara Stokes had 1 goal and 2 assists.

Sophomore Ali Piltch had another big day in the cage with 9 saves for a 75% save percentage.

Seniors Jenny Kley, Norah Maxwell, Leigh Ann Quill, Jess Rosenbluth, Lia Wertheimer, Elise Mercier, Christina Zipf, and TJ Kiely (manager) were honored for their contributions to the lacrosse team.


The softball team increased their winning streak to 13 games by beating Academy of the New Church on Friday, May 2, by a score of 18-0 for a very successful senior day.

Junior Adrienne Drummond had another knockout performance on the mound, pitching a near no-hitter. Drummond finished the 10-0 shutout with 14 strikeouts, two walks, and no hits.

The Gators backed up the stellar pitching performance by scoring 5 runs in the 5th inning and 5 runs in the 6th inning.

Seniors Dakota Carroll, Jess Iacobucci, and Rebecca Yuska were honored for their contributions to Shipley's softball team.


The boys' lacrosse team celebrated their senior day on Monday, May 5, with a win over visiting Archbishop Carroll.

The Shipley School boys’ varsity lacrosse team improved to 10-8 overall (5-0 FSL, 6-1 NE League) as they wrapped up their regular season play, with a 9-2 victory over visiting Archbishop Carroll High School.

Leading the way for Shipley on senior day were senior co-captains John Hird with 3 goals and 4 assists, and Ethan McGill with 4 goals.

Junior goalie Jack Tanenbaum picked up his 10th win as a starter, making 12 saves.

Shipley has home field advantage for the FSL playoffs and will host Westtown on Tuesday, May 13, at 4:00 p.m. at Shipley’s Farm Fields in Gladwyne.

Seniors Julian Blunt, Nathan Bronstein, John Hilzinger, John Hird, Jasper Jarden, Scott Keating, Ethan Magill, Aaron Summers, Dan Mayernick, Jamie Goldstein (manager), Allison Redding (manager), Rob Little (manager), and Taylor Powell (manager) were honored for their contribution to the boys' lacrosse team.


The boys' tennis teams honored their seniors on their last home matches of the season.

The varsity squad beat Germantown Friends School on Tuesday, May 6, by a score of 5-0 for a very successful senior day.

Seniors Jon Thaler, Vivek Stalam, Steve Warner, Mike Wadden, Jeff Gordon, Francis Lora, Colin Chapin, Chelsea Roberts (manager), and Carolyn Ruth (manager) were honored for their contributions to Shipley's boys' tennis program.

Senior Geoff Kelly was honored for his contributions to Shipley's boys' junior varsity tennis team.
