Technology grants are available to support teachers’ development of learning opportunities that facilitate student use of technology. Lessons that are student-centered and encourage collaboration, communication or problem-solving can be developed over the summer with support from the Director of Instructional Technology.
Past recipients of summer funding have created WebQuests, PowerPoint tutorials for independent student use, researched and evaluated Websites to reinforce curriculum or support student research, developed applications for software such as Inspiration and Timeliner, designed lessons that made use of an Interactive Smartboard, located online interactive games and math manipulatives, and wrote Internet-based assignments for students. Teachers who develop material that incorporates technology concepts and skills for their students will be asked to share their experience and expertise with colleagues.
