If you enjoy helping people and bringing your smile, enthusiasm and talents into the lives of individuals with physical disabilities, our Volunteer Program is perfect for you.

If you love gardening, you can volunteer to care for plants in residents' rooms, work in our plant room or help tend our perennial garden.

You can provide clerical assistance in our Business Office or other departments within Inglis Innovative Services.

You can choose the days and the times you want.  We are flexible to meet your schedule.

5

Duties required of the volunteer:
Various duties including - supporting Therapeutic Recreation staff with programs.  Programs may include - Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Pet Therapy, board/card games.  Transporting residents to and from programs as well as assisting the lead for the program.  Friendly visitations - visiting residents in their room opening mail, friendly conversation etc.  Possibly accompany staff and residents on day trips to the mall/restaurant or Ocean City.  Trips typically depart at 9:00 AM and return by 3:00 PM. 

Special skills that will be helpful for a volunteer to have:
Friendly, compassionate, patient and willing to support wheeelchair bound residents.

Typical hours of employment:
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Special circumstances ie. travel, security clearance or background check required:
Students under 18 are required to have their parent/guardian sign a parent permission form.
