Multicultural Awareness Day 2003 The Shipley community dedicated much of a day to an exploration of a variety of cultures and social topics. Small group sessions were hosted by outside speakers on a multitude of topics: Interracial Relationships, Religion and Identity, Affirmative Action, Ableism at Shipley, Sexual Identity, Self Image and Body Image, to name a few. Students enjoy the range of topics covered during the day. In a survey asking the students what they learned from MAD, the most common student response was that he/she would try to expand their multicultural experiences in order to learn about other cultures.
