In Our Family Art Exhibit 2003

Lower School- All-Purpose Room Hall

The In Our Family art exhibit is a collection of black and white photos that have traveled throughout the United States.  Presented by Family Diversity Projects Inc. the show “celebrates families of every kind, including adoptive families, foster families, multiracial families, physically challenged families, lesbian and gay parented families, interfaith families, multi-generational families and more.”  Each photo is accompanied by a text written by a child in the family. 
During the weeks in which the show was exhibited in the Lower School teachers were able to use the photos as the basis for discussions. A wall of family photos was created by Shipley students where they shared the story of their own families.
