The Upper School Performing Arts students will present Gilbert and Sullivan’s rollicking The Pirates of Penzance in Riely Theatre. First performed in 1870, this operetta details the unconventional (and often times hilarious) exploits of a band of poetry-loving pirates. Known as one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular comic operas, The Pirates of Penzance is filled with many timeless numbers: “Pour the Pirate Sherry,” “To Be a Pirate King,“ and the infamously silly “I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General.” This musical is sure to entertain the whole family.
**During Sunday's performance, younger members of the audience are invited to dress in pirate garb and take photos with the cast members.
