Testing Calendar

Listed below you will find an outline in calendar form of the standardized testing options for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. No student should be taking tests on all these test dates.  Registration materials for SATs and ACTs are available in the College Counseling Office. Further information and registration is also available via the internet.

 Sophomore Year (2007-2008)

October 20

PSAT

Students take the PSAT's on the Saturday test date. We automatically register all of our stophomores. The test is practice for the junior PSAT.

May 5 to 16

AP

AP tests are available for sophomores completing AP courses. AP teachers are responsible for registering their students.

June 7

SAT Subject Tests

 

 

Some sophomores take SAT Subject Tests after completing courses in Chemistry, Algebra II Honors, or the third level of a language, at the Honors level.

 Junior Year  (2007–2008)

October 20

PSAT

Students take the PSAT on the Saturday test date. We automatically register all of our juniors. The test is practice for the SAT and qualifies top scorers for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

January 26
March 1    May 3        

SAT R (Reasoning Test)

Juniors should take the SAT R on one of these test dates. In Junior Seminars we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the Marchl and May dates. The question and answer service is only available in May, not in March.

May 5 to 16

AP

AP tests are available for juniors completing AP courses or those completing Honors English.  To register, juniors should check with their English or AP teacher.

June 7

SAT  Subject  Tests

 

 

Juniors should consider taking two SAT Subject Tests. Students should consider taking SAT Subject Test in subjects they are completing, such as Chemistry, U.S. History, or a language. Math can be taken now or in the fall of the senior year.

 Senior Year (2007-2008)

October 6

 

November 3  December 1  

SAT R (Reasoning Test)

SAT  Subjest Tests

Seniors need to choose between these test dates to complete standardized testing. Usually seniors use one of these test dates for the SAT R and select another to finish up SAT Subject testing.

Sept. 15 October 27
December 8

ACT

Some seniors decide to take the ACT (American College Testing) to supplement or replace their SATs. For details about the test consult College Counseling or the ACT web site.

May 5 to 16

AP

Some seniors will complete AP exams at the conclusion of their AP courses. Seniors are advised to check on the AP policies at the college they plan to attend. Again, their AP teachers will register them.
