Charlie Warzel ’06
Charlie Warzel is a journalist whose work on technology and its effects on society has appeared in some of the country's most prominent publications. After early work at BuzzFeed News, where he reported extensively on social media, online extremism, he joined The New York Times as an opinion writer-at-large, where his reporting on internet culture, disinformation, and smartphone privacy reached a wide audience. He now writes for The Atlantic, where he continues to chronicle how the internet reshapes politics, culture, and everyday life. He credits Shipley with laying the foundation: "Shipley—more than college or post-college life—is where I really learned how to write and think."
