The Shipley School
The Shipley School is pleased to offer an Introduction to Positive Education Program for educators. This is a professional development program designed to introduce participants to the concepts, skills and best practices of Positive Psychology as they apply to schools.

Keynote speakers and workshop leaders will include international well-being scientist Dr. Alejandro Adler, Positive Education experts from the Geelong Grammar School’s Institute for Positive Education (offering their first ever open-enrollment training in the US), graduates of the University of Pennsylvania’s MAPP program, Shipley teachers and colleagues, and other area specialists. 
 
When: June 17-19, 2019
Where: The Shipley School, Bryn Mawr PA
Who should attend: Educators, School Administrators, School Specialists
Cost: $650 per person (includes breakfast, lunch, and Monday evening cocktail reception), $500 per person for groups of three or more people attending together

Each person attending must register separately. Act 48 Credits may be available.

  • Improve Educator Well-Being through Positive Education - Keynote Presentation by Dr. Martin Seligman

    In the midst of already increasing levels of mental illness among young people globally, now educators must also contend with the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent research indicates that educators are feeling this pressure and that as many as 75% have seen a rise in their levels of struggle since the pandemic began. More alarming still, nearly half of these educators also report a lack of confidence in their ability to care for their own well-being. We need a collective effort to reaffirm and prioritize well-being for both educators and learners around the world if we hope to help both actualize their full potential.
