Emma Lo '21 Recognized as a 2021 National YoungArts Foundation Winner

Shipley senior Emma Lo has been recognized as a 2021 National YoungArts Foundation Winner in Classical Music (Piano). Through a rigorous audition process, she joins over 600 of the most accomplished young visual, literary, and performing artists from across the country. 

According to the National YoungArts Foundation press release, winners are selected through the
organization’s prestigious competition and are chosen for their caliber of artistic achievement by esteemed discipline-specific panels of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process.

YoungArts award winners receive cash prizes and the opportunity to learn from leading artists such as Debbie Allen, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Frank Gehry, Wynton Marsalis, Salman Rushdie, and Mickalene Thomas. YoungArts award winners become eligible for exclusive creative and professional development support including a wide range of fellowships, residencies, and awards; virtual and in-person presentation opportunities in collaboration with major venues nationwide.

National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) identifies the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts, and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities throughout their careers.
