Positive, engaging, and supportive are three adjectives that I would use to describe my classroom.
What do you love about Shipley?
The things that I love about Shipley are the close-knit community, the small class sizes (which allow me to know my students well), and the passionate teachers that I am fortunate to work with.
What inspired you to choose education?
My love of children, helping to impart knowledge, and my desire to learn inspired me to choose education.
What is your favorite lesson, project or activity? Why?
My favorite activity to teach is our immigration unit. Through our Ellis Island simulation, the children are exposed to a “journey” that others have taken. This gives our students a greater appreciation of their relatives, their journeys, and the adversity that they had faced when they came to this country.
What is your year-end goal for every student who walks into your classroom?
My year-end goal for every student is that they make social, academic, and emotional growth. Overall, they walk away from second grade with a positive attitude and more confidence as a learner and as a human being.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite foods are Mexican and Italian food.
Do you have children?
I have three children. Luke, Caroline, and Zach.

What is your favorite season?
My favorite season is spring. I prefer the warm weather and love to watch everything bloom.
