Upper School Students Place at Model Congress and Model UN

Over President’s Day weekend, February 18-21, seven Shipley delegates attended the Georgetown Model UN event in Washington, DC. Model UN is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more.

Congratulations to Amber Feng '24, who won Honorable Mention for her hard work on the Legal committee, representing the nation of Ghana.

On February 24-27, ten Shipley students attended the Harvard Model Congress, in Boston MA. HMA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. Students engage with American government through role-play and simulation in order to develop a better understanding of civic involvement and government function. Students tackle a diverse array of complex issues and engage in debates, caucuses, trials, press conferences, testimonies, and crises.
