Mr. Amidon, because he is the most understanding teacher and keeps his class engaged at all times. He is a big inspiration to everyone and does not allow people to goof off. He knows when something is funny, and when something has gone too far.

 

Courage to do something that others are scared to do, and grace for doing the things that others deem unnecessary.

I learned a lot at Shipley. I learned how to manage my time, and stay on top of things. I learned how to get out of my comfort zone at school. I learned how to be a more productive person, and a much more accepting and open person. I had the pleasure of being the captain of the boy's soccer team, and what I learned from my experiences as a captain, I will take with me everywhere that I go. Shipley has prepared me for college, and eventually the outside world, and some of the things that I may see as unnecessary that Shipley has taught me, I am sure will serve me well at some point in my life.

The people at Shipley have taught me so much, whether it be teachers, coaches, or students. I used to be a really reserved individual, but because of the people at Shipley I have been able to open up more and thrive academically in ways I never thought I would be able to, coming from my previous school. Everyone from Shipley has been patient with me and I will be forever grateful for what they have done for me.
