The Gators wrapped up a successful fall sports season with many teams reaching their respective Friends Schools League Championship and PAISAA state tournament, and many student-athletes earning spots on FSL All-League teams. Read more about each team's season.
Varsity Tennis
The Varsity Tennis Team finished tied for second in the Friends Schools League. Highlights included a win over Moorestown Friends School and George School. The Gators entered the PAISAA State Tournament as underdogs yet managed to make it through the first round, eventually falling to the number one seed. Two student-athletes were named to FSL All-League teams: Lily Colvin ’24 (First Team) and Nicole Liacouras ’25 (Honorable Mention).
Girls’ Soccer
Shipley’s Varsity Girls' Soccer Team started the season by traveling to England to play games, explore a new culture, and bond with their teammates. The Gators finished third in the Friends Schools League, losing in an intense semi-final match. In the PAISAA State Tournament, the Gators earned a first-round win but fell in the quarterfinals to eventual State Champions Westtown. The team looks forward to continuing to build a successful and competitive program under Head Coach Sebastien LeToux. Four student-athletes were named to FSL All-League teams: Anna Pascale '25 and Talia Devon '24 (First Team) and Razia Mian '25 and Katie Gilbert '26 (Honorable Mention).
Boys’ Soccer
Boys’ Soccer started the season with a 10-day journey to England to train, tour professional stadiums, attend pro matches, and compete against English Club teams. The young and promising team finished with a 14-4 overall record and a 10-2 league record, losing to Westtown in a very tight contest in the FSL Championship. This year, the team had six student-athletes named to FSL All-League teams: Max Hiatt '25, Seamus Lannon '26, Chris Nascimento '25, Dylan Stoltz '25 (First Team) and Xander Gillin '24 and Noah Laackman '24 (Honorable Mention). Nascimento also earned All-Southeast PA and All-State honors.
Field Hockey
Shipley’s Field Hockey team started their season facing tough competition right away, with overtime games against Penn Charter and Lawrenceville. The Gators finished the regular season undefeated with a 7-0 league record, defeating opponents by an average of three goals. In post-season play, the team lost a tough matchup in the FSL Championship game and competed in the first round of the PAISAA tournament. The Field Hockey team had six student-athletes named to FSL All-League teams: Riley Barusevicius '24, Kayla Rosenbaum '24, Sydney Jacoby '27, Lily Neilson '25 (First Team) and Sam MacLaughlin '24 and Stacy Garcia '26 (Honorable Mention).
Volleyball
Shipley’s Volleyball season started with matches against reigning PAISAA Champion Germantown Academy and 2nd-place finisher Notre Dame Academy. A young team with only one senior on the squad still took a set from both teams. Advancing to the first round of PAISAA tournament, the Gators fell to Mercersburg. As the young team continues to develop, the future of the volleyball program looks bright.
Cross Country
The Cross Country team had another historic season. The girls’ team was undefeated in FSL meets and placed 2nd, by one point, in the final league standings. The girls ran very well at the PAISAA meet, with Dagny Shiffler '25 and Nina Letts '26 earning All-State honors. The boys’ team finished third in the FSL and also ran well at the PAISAA meet. Ben Brasfield '26 finished third in the state. Cross Country had six student-athletes named to FSL All-League teams: Ben Brasfield '26, Quinn O’Malley '25, Ella Viscardo '27, Dagny Shiffler '25, Nina Letts '26 (First Team) and Valentina Zamudio-Martinez '28 (Honorable Mention).
Fall Crew and Golf
Shipley’s Fall Crew team prepared for the spring season by traveling to Boston to compete in the Head of The Charles, while also competing in the Head of Schuylkill, Navy Day Regatta, and the Hidden River Chase. Our Fall Golf team took full advantage of their bonus season with wins against Episcopal Academy and Strathaven. The team finished with another winning season and is looking forward to competing in the spring.
